How my first week in UKM was like

Assalamualaikum and hi! I'm Ain. As the title above, I will talk about my first week experience in UKM.

Before entering UKM, I had mixed feelings. I felt sad, happy, excited etc. As soon as I arrived, I felt blessed to be a part of the students at UKM. On the first day in UKM, there was nothing much to share, we only had some briefings and introductions for the next day. Anyway, I felt lonely on my first day in UKM as I don't have a roommate yet 😒My roommate is a second-year student, so she came back to UKM a week after my orientation. Somehow, I enjoyed it because I had some time alone (me timeπŸ˜‚)

On the second day and third day, we have been given various information about UKM such as student affairs, library, health centre, academic centre, faculty and many more. I got a chance to see a few lecture halls, gained information about the faculty, courses etc. I feel motivated and excited to begin my studies here. In the evening, I had college activities. We were divided into a group. There were some activities that we did. One of the activities is we had to put in a marble using PVC pipe to connect with the other pipes with only one hand. More challenging is, we had to be silent and were not allowed to talk at all. Only the leader was allowed to talk to give instructions to us. After that, our group flag needs to be raised by using the pipes. The game was so hard, we even had a small conflict and we finished it late. I felt frustrated but after doing a self-reflection on the game, I can see that actually, the game requires strategy, teamwork, patience and not to give up. Unfortunately, I didn't have any pictures as we were not allowed to use our phones.

Next, on the fourth day in the morning, I had an aerobic dance with all students at Dewan Gemilang. It was fun because we all danced together and the songs were nice! At night, all students went to Stadium UKM for the sports parade and football friendly match between students and UKM's staff. I felt amazed, happy and excited as it was my first-time stepping into the stadium at night. What makes it more interesting is I saw Dhabitah Sabri! An Olympic diver! 😍

On the last day of orientation, I went to DECTAR for the recitation of the pledge. After the recitation, I am officially UKM student! I feel proud and happy to be UKM student. At night, we all went to DECTAR again for the DECTAR War. If I'm not mistaken, DECTAR war is a tradition in UKM. All I can say is the 'war' was so fun and amazing! This was the fascinating part of the entire week!! However, I will talk about this DECTAR war in my next entry.

That was my first week in UKM experiences. To sum up, I had a lot of feelings and emotions on my first week in UKM. I gained a lot of information too! I think that's all for this entry. Talk soon! Bye!
