STORY TIME ABOUT ORIENTATION WEEK...

Hi, I'm back! So, the next story that I want to share is about my experience in UKM during orientation week.πŸ’ƒπŸ’«

Starting from the day of the registration day, at that evening, all of new students from Kolej Keris Mas (KKM) need to gather awhile at Dewan Kolej Keris Mas to listen the briefing about the activities with college on that night. The activities on that night are familiarization session with facilitator.

What a lots of fun things on the session. They love to joking around and so cheerful. I'm enjoyed laughing and have fun too. After that, all facilitator show and teach us how to do "college cheers". The cheers represented as a symbol to give support to each other and also towards our beloved college. The moment when they do college cheers, somehow I just can feel their energy because they do it together simultaneously and also with enthusiastic voices. Honestly, it makes me a little bit goosebumps. When its time for us to do the cheers, we feel a little awkward and shy but they encourage us to enjoy do it and no need to shy with each other. But for the first time, we still can't get rid our shy feeling. It's just funny to remember it again.

Next, the second day of orientation week, the day where it was the opening ceremony of "Minggu Apresiasi Watan" (MAW) located at Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak (DECTAR). The ceremony started with opening speech from the Deputy Vice Chancellor and then followed by interaction with the responsibility centre such as student affairs centre, academic management centre, Citra study centre, UKM-career, University Health centre and UKM security section. Our programmes on that day were just to be in that hall from the morning until evening. I feel quite tired and sleepy but I try to hang on until the end. Once the programmes are finished, we back to our college for a short activity with college.

The activity is we practice awhile doing college cheers for the preparation of "Dectar War" day. Dectar War day is the day where all colleges gather at DECTAR to compete their college cheers to see who can keep on support their college until the end. It's so cool to do college cheers as every colleges have their own style of cheers and I love my college cheers so much.

At that night, the next programmes are talk session from UKM students icon and alumni. They shared about their experience studied at UKM, their active involvement during studied and also how they become a success person. What I can see are each of their success stories are on every different paths and I feel so proud with them and impressed and I hope one day I also can be like they be.

Move on to the third day of MAW, the programmes on that day are faculty programmes. My faculty's name is Faculty of Economics & Management. The tentatives of the programmes are briefing about Bachelor Business Administration (BBA) courses and talk session with management club executive line.

For the night programmes, the programmes is "Malam Cinta Rasul" at Masjid UKM. We gathered at Masjid UKM at 6.30 p.m. and we pray Maghrib and Isyak in congregation. After that, we listen to the "ceramah" about "Cinta Rasul".

The next day of MAW which is the fourth day, on that morning, we have aerobic exercise with top management of UKM infront of Dewan Gemilang. After that, we have "Aktiviti Prakarsa/Domain Kemenjadian Pelajar" where we need to join the domain group that we have chosen. My domain group is Innovation. Our activities in Innovation Domain are each group need to innovated an original thing to a new thing that have new function. My group have innovated box turn to a briefcase and also we have added a new function on it which is trace function. What I can say is that I like to hear all the presentation of each group because they have many interesting and creative idea of innovations. It's fun to learn new things about innovations. I got new knowledges about it.

On the evening activities, we practices college cheers where the Dectar War Day will be on tomorrow, the last day of MAW. We gathered together with new students from Kolej Tun Syed Nasir (KTSN) and Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (KTDI) at our KKM college hall. At the same time, we got a chance to learn each college cheers as a sign to give support towards each other on Dectar War Day.

Then, the night programmes were UKM Sihat, parades and sports with top management. The parades from all residential college were presented where each college have their own parades performance style and it's so interesting to see many kind of performance. Other than that, the sports match between students and top management is football game. Both team were playing good but the team that win the game is top management. Right after end of the night programmes, we were suprised by the fireworks show. I was amazed with the fireworks because it's so big and beautiful. The fireworks show was quite long but never mind I just enjoyed it.

Finally, the last day of MAW and also the closing ceremony of Minggu Apresiasi Watan (MAW), we were asked to wear the dress code that has been set for the ceremony which is for male students, the dress code are white shirt, UKM blue necktie, black pants with closed-shoe while for female students are baju kurung in a blue colour or blue pattern, white hood, UKM scarf and also with closed-shoe. The ceremony starting with vice chancellor's mandate followed by the recitation of the  student's pledge. The mandate that vice chancellor often mentioned are about parents. Vice chancellor's advice will be some of the things that I will remember forever because the way vice canchellor touches on stories about this make me feel just like my parents said to me. It made realize that we need to always remember all the sacrifices of our parents in all time so that we always do our best in everything.

After the end of the MAW closing ceremony, we back to college to do final practices for Dectar War in this night. We do the best that we can for this last practices and at the same time, we also not forget to take this last time enjoying singing together our favourite songs of all time. I really had so much fun with all facilitator and all my friend. This moment will be the most favourite moments in my university's life.

Then, the last night of awaiting moment has arrived. The concert of "Di Sini Lahirnya Sebuah Cinta" presented all kind of amusement in UKM not only from the students show but also from the top management. What I feel about this concert is it feel like going to artist concert where everyone is enjoy cheering all the moment on the concert. Again, I had a lot of fun on that day.

Another awaiting moment on that night is Dectar War Day! After the concert is over, all residential college stick together support doing their college cheers. All facilitator also sing a support song that sounds like football support song. On that moment, what I witnessed was that everyone on DECTAR are really energetic and enthusiastic because the hall is just full of cheers voices and honestly I really feel the energetic vibes. Around 1:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the "war" is over. We back to college and gather awhile with all facilitator in KKM hall.

As it was the last day of MAW and the last day we gathered together, we take a moment to say goodbye where the facilitator leader take a chance to express appreciation to all of us throughout MAW programmes. Before we parted, we chilling together sing a farewell song and lastly take photos as a memories.

Honestly from my heart, I would say that I really have a good moments all the time during MAW programmes. Every moment together with all facilitator are a new experiences and a new wonderful moments that have created in my mind. It will remain as a sweetest moment that I have had in my whole life.

-Lots of love to KKM!!!-πŸ˜˜πŸ’“πŸ’“πŸ’«
